STOCKYARD PARK

Public BBQ

Stockyard Park offers a delightfully tranquil escape where a serene lake serves as the centrepiece for an abundance of birdlife, though early morning visits yield the most rewarding sightings. The circular walking paths meander through generously shaded areas, making summer visits pleasantly bearable despite Queensland's notorious heat. Families gravitate toward the well-positioned barbecue facilities under the canopy, creating an ideal setting for leisurely outdoor meals. The resident ducks provide gentle entertainment, particularly for younger visitors. While the peaceful atmosphere more than compensates for the lack of toilet facilities, wise visitors come prepared with insect repellent as the mosquitoes can be rather persistent. Parking relies primarily on roadside spaces, so arriving early ensures both the best bird watching and a convenient spot.
